BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR || The Work of Andrew Oslovar

BETTER LUCK NEXT YEAR || The Work of Andrew Oslovar

Good enough is good enough. I believe in creating humorous idioms and contradictions between materials with varying degrees of cultural context; things that people have in their house but can get rid of because their child really wants to learn to play the trumpet. I’m interested in the little annoyances in our lives that make it a funny place to exist. Broken toys, kitschy dollar store stuff, sports memorabilia and my odd weightlifting habit are dragged to a hypothetical strip mall to create arrangements of sucking at sports, going deep into YouTube, or getting 4th place at your piano recital.

About the Artist

Andrew Oslovar is a local artist and recent MFA graduate of the university of Oregon. His work consists primarily of two and three-dimensional collage and object pieces centering on ideas about suburbia, mediocrity, humor, bro culture, and being annoyed by the way your friend eats cheese.
